There are companies who can supply you with a pre-paid debit card. The one I know about is the Talksport Prepay Debit Card. You pay a one-off fee to get one (I don't know how much that is). Then you just top up when you like, the same way as you would with a phone top-up card. You then just use the card to buy things in the normal way. The best part is that because of the way it's designed, you can only spend the money that you put on the card, so you can't run up a debt. Hope this helps.
