They aren't running out of ideas for writing books, why would you run out of ideas on movies. ALthough with all the terrible remakes lately it is starting to seem like they may be runnign out of good ideas

well in a more cynical sense, original plots seem to be harder and harder to come by.
There seems to a be a basic formula that is followed. just change character names and add a new twist here or there, or make it more contemporary and bam! a "New Movie" is released.
But i think as long as we keep changing and progressing socially, there will always be a new situation or experience that can be filmed beautifully for people to watch.

There are 6 billion people in the world with their own story to tell... and a lot of them have really good imaginations and can come up with stuff...

they pretty much have. i mean how many movies have you sen involving this theme: guy meets girl, guy and girl fall in love. guy/girl has a secret, girl/guy finds out and mopes, girl/guy leaves guy/girl. guy/girl gets girl/guy back with corny speech, live happily ever after. plus there are SO many remakes nowadays. i can predict almost everything that happens.
