80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

If you came to this point, you can get on with it and from now on do something useful.
Look around you or go out of your door outside and think on some little thing which would make life a bit better for anybody. And if it is only a smile you give or a prayer you pray for a person, it will have an effect and you will lead a purposeful life as you contributed to bringing more Light on this earth.
Open your eyes, and ears and heart and let the purpose find you and then just do it.
I wish you that you will be able to do this as it is not life which makes you useless it is your own belief which stops you in seeing your purpose.

So in other words, you're using astrology, a man-made system based on planetary motion, to explain that the planets have a purpose? Astrologers happened to notice that sometimes, certain things happened when the planets were in certain positions. They decided this must mean that events on Earth are influenced by the relative motion of rocks and gas in space. To say that planets "influence" a system of prophecy that is based on the motion of the planets is meaningless. Of course planets influence astrological readings. The readings are based on the movements of the planets in the first place!

You can change that you know, your uselessness. It isn't really all that hard. You don't have to save the world, or dedicate your life to helping others, or find a cure for cancer. Most of us don't "provide anything to humanity". Just try to be caring and thoughtful in your own small way. Call your parents. Help a stranger. Small kindnesses go a long way!

You are an individual. There are over 6 billion people on this planet. They probably have nearly 6 billion different ideas of what their purpose for being here might be. My guess is that the world needed one of you and nobody does THAT better than you do. If you feel you need to contribute more, do it. Nothing stops you.

Keep asking yourself why you exist and eventually you'll find a way to provide; once you're provided, you'll know right away. Then you'll know why and what to provide. Just keep asking and keep your mind open and "apply your eye to the narrow gate".

Sorry you feel that way, but you're right. You have no 'purpose' because there is no-one who makes purposes. You exist because you live. You live because you exist. That's it. Try to enjoy yourself.
