I hope the United States school systems finally start teaching about the history of the United States. They really need to begin in the 1rst grade and work their way upward. Historical facts in this country seems to be null and void for most. His salary is 400,000 a year before taxes. If he receives a gift over a certain amount he must pay for it when he leaves office. I believe you may see this gift may amount to $50.00. Anything over that must come from his pocket once he leaves, including the little dog that was given to him. As far as perks, the President is not in the Congress or the Senate. Only they get the perks. LOBBYISTS!!

"The compensation of the President is controlled by law, specifically 3 USC 102. The most recent salary increase, from $200,000/year to $400,000/year took effect when George W. Bush became President. The President also receives a $50,000 non-taxable expense account." http://www.ipl.org/div/farq/pensionFARQ.html

The president gets paid 400,000 dollars a year. On top of that he does speaches and programs so he gets alot of money for that. After a president leaves office they get paid 200,000 dollars a year just because, and they get free secret service for the rest of their lives also. If he dies but his wife is still living she also gets 200,000 a year and free secret service after his death.
Hope this helps.

IT IS a quarter of a million/year ($250,000). So, for each term he searves, it's a million.

This does not include all the money he gets from speeches and fundraisers and things like that, which varies, but it well over what his sallary is

$200,000 a year last I heard. But, he gets lots of perks.

Edit: I'm wrong, he got a raise. It's $400,000 a year. But according to Bush, he spent $60,000 getting elected. So he won't be recouping his losses any time soon.
