you are late to a business meeting
if you caught your mate cheating on you
you got into a car accident and it was the other guys fault
a guy on Death Row talking to his victums families

not in my thinking. "my bad" is just a fluff off. it is so weak it doesn't get close to being anything in the direction of an apology. its a weak, shallow acknowledgment of a wrongdoing.

I'd say, it works for the meeting.
Wouldn't apply for you, but the mate if they are shallow and callous.
The same for the accident. An incompetent driver chiming "my bad" should be grounds for insurance penalties and rate increases.
On death row, it wouldn't give victims' families much closure.

whatever the situation is, i think the meaning of the words are mainly the way the words are said
i read an article somewhere that said 90%( or some high percentile) of the communication one does is through the way one puts it.

It does but when put in those situations it doesnt work at all. Only works when your messing around with your friends.
