Have little boys in the early 1800's had any secret club tendencies?

Some people that I have spoken with in my 13 years of life say little boys around 1830 were secret club members like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn may have been. Is this really possible?-Super Steve

There have always been secret clubs that boys have belonged to, even way back in Roman times.

There have been secret clubs for thousands of years. Boys have ALWAYS made their own secret clubs. Why wouldn't it be possible? Why are you so surprised?

it's possible, but unlikely. remember, huck and tom were simply literary characters.
