What kind of life can I pursue that would be adventurous and interesting. I want to do what indiana jones did. I want to pilot airplanes to far away places, learn all I can about different places and cultures, help people, inform people, Learn all I can in this life. scaling mountains, crossing deserts, descending water falls. Money is not of the greatest importance, but serving a purpouse and being signicant is.
Am I simply a hopeless romantic full of wonderlust? Or is this kind of life real and accesible?
If so then how......

Yes it is possable maybe not the same way Indeiana jones did but it's possable.
So you want to know how! just do what you just told me! if there is something that "isn't letting you" then find another way live is like a pc you have many ways of doing one thing i can copy and paste with control c +v i can right click or i can go to the tool bar and edit!
overall if that's what you want then you need to draw up a plan that will get you there! so you want to fly planes right..
then go to school to fly a plane you got to learn first.. while your going to school you can help people by tutoring or just answering these questions all day however you feel is completing!
inform people about what? you ahve to have something to inform them about so while your inschool find that something...
if you already went to school then start apply for jobs in the plane business.. you may want to contact the school you got your degree from and ask them for some leads.. sence travel is in your plans look for a place to have a job anywhere but where you are!
when you do land that job continue your education either by formal schooling or find other means
Its can happen but it won't be handed to you.. you will have to work for it! :( sucks i know i was waiting for 10 years for my hand out realized it wasnt' coming so i got of my butt now i am turning down handouts weird but not complaining! :)

it is possible. You are talented and full of wonderlust. Use that. write down what you want and make it as clear as possible. try to make it as realistic as possible. do research on the subject. Think on it hard for a while and decide what you need/want to learn first and then do it. The key here is GODO IT. Keep to your dreams. Do not be afraid to ajust your plans every now and again, if it becomes clear you are on the wrong track and try to be flexible and indeed learn as much as you can. Start with a language and a skill. Then keep sorting out what direction you want to head in first and make a plan how you are going to achieve that. One more piece of advice. Create an imaginary advisory board. Every time you are not sure what to do you will ask Your advisory board. Put anyone on there you want. Einstein... Your dad... Your heroes and examples and imagine what they would say or do with your question. What your subconcious mind comes up with is usually right. You will conquer the world!! GO for it...good luck

Start by getting a pilots license and learning other languages.
Ask school counselors what kind of job could fit in....mission pilot or UNICEF kind of work? Archeology? Your own unique tour company? Ha...that would be fun...but loads of money!
