ethyl alcohol is the kind you drink so look for some high proof vodka or grain alcohol. proof is 1/2 the percentage ,example
100 proof vodka is 50% alcohol.

Albertsons grocery stores sell it, or at least the Albertsons near my house used to sell it up to very recently. I could buy a 16 fluid ounce bottle of 70% ethyl alcohol by volume for a pretty reasonable price. The bottle looks just like the isopropyl alcohol bottle and is sold in the same area. The brand name of the alcohol is "equal line". Like I said, up to just very recently, Albertsons stocked it. I was there a few days ago and did not see it....whether they no longer carry it or it was jut a fluke that they were out of stock I cannot say, but the employees didn’t know anything. The advantage of buying (denatured) ethyl alcohol as a rubbing alcohol form as opposed to in a drinkable alcohol form is that there is no age restriction and it is probably cheaper.

Hmmm, I have a bottle of rubbing alcohol and underneath it says "70% ethyl alcohol" and trust me, I WOULDNT DRINK IT!

Unless the nurse is Kitty Dukakis, which I'm sure she's not.
