I am moving to North Carolina in August, and I am trying to find the most inexpensive way to move all my things (including my car) with me when I go, but moving companies are outrageous.

arent the ridiculous! everytime i ask for a quote they give me all kinds of other info, that i DONT NEED!! its really frustrating! i am trying to get back to CA from IN...my dad is going to drive out here so i can load a bunch of my stuff on his truck... and i am driving myself back, but i am hiring movers to drive the rest of my stuff, but i am doing all my own packing, and loading and unloading. good luck!!

Sell everything and bring only the most important things in your car, drive there. Buy new/ used furnitures in NC.

rent a u-haul and tow your car, have a couple friends help you pack up and move. its really not that expensive. much much cheaper than hiring movers. and of course, buy your friends lunch after they help you!
