Hi their I will be a hand up, but not a hand out; look up Native American issues for American Indians. I come from Rhode Island and some natives receive tax breaks for being noticed as a full bread to a tribe. I myself am not a full bread; I will never be allowed to accept college funds etc.... The best I can tell you is that their are some native Americans that are recognized and receive money for their connection to native Amercian tribes. This is with out taxes; to the best of my knowledge. Look up gambling casinos in the norther region; you might find more information. I to the best of my knowledge if you are connected to a active tribe you receive money and are allowed to go to collage for free. That should have some background for taxes; IE: money, college for free. Take care and good luck!

If you really want to know you should go to a Native American reservation and ask for a interview. A lot of them are really poor. Not all of them are drunks, greeny. I know my family isn't and hubby's Native club is not either. I'm also Native American and I'm still learning.
You're not going to find much info on line. You'll find a bunch of fakes trying to act Native American. You 're better off going to a reservation.
My hubby and I have college education. My hubby has a masters degree. You will also find few Native Americans in jail compared to other races.

I think tribes who can think of no other way to show their "culture" but to mass-produce casinos and indirectly car-wrecks/slowdown on country roads (where a lot of the reservations tend to be) are damaging others view of them.
