I would be estatic to get the ring. Just enjoy it for a while. Its a major thing for a guy to finally give the ring. Your treating it like nothing, and just wanting to fast forward to the wedding plans. Enjoy wearing it, showing it off, looking at it. Give him lots of kisses, tell him how much you love him, Thank him for being the special bf he is. Tell him how happy you are. Make this part of your relationship really mean something. This page will turn soon enough. And you do want the Happily ever after, right?

Start planning and tell him that you think this date would be good
if you have been together that long it is about time for him to get off his lazy butt and make an honest woman out of you. Congrats on the engagement one other thing did he pop the question or did you just get a ring? Him asking is most important
but him saying don't plan anything doesn't make any sense?

I intend to agree with you, the ring was just to pacify you. A serious engagement involves a ring and a date. Find out why he is stalling. He might have every intention of marrying you but is not in a rush for some reason. You need to ask him. 3.5 years is long enough to make that final move to committment.

He ask you to marry him on Christmas and gave you a ring? The bride-to-be makes the plans, just tell him that you are going to start when you get ready to.He'll let you know where he stands then, believe that. You pick the date, time, dress, and every thing that goes with it...You know that sure took him a long time to do,he may not really mean it..You know him best....

If you're not supposed to be planning anything then you got a really nice diamond ring for xmas, not an engagement ring.

You probably bugged the crap out of him about wanting a ring and now that you have it you're still bugging him and pressuring him for a date. This is why this catagory is up here. If it weren't for girls like you, we wouldn't have questions like this. If he want's to marry you wait for him when both of you are ready.

You really should take some time to just bask in the fun of engagement before you dive into wedding planning.

you should talk to him and find out why he doesn't want you to plan anything, if it's not a good reason then you should give him back the ring.
