According to National Council of La Raza there are about 120,000 hispanics rebuilding the city. thats about 38% of the population.
And it doesnt look like it will slow down, the New Orleans hospitals are being overwhelmed with babies. and 85% of them are hispanic.

I think this is a sight of things to come. Hispanics are expected to be the largest ethnicity in America by 2020.

Me personally i think this is a good opportunity to make a city predominantly hispanic. It would provide a place for people to go and assimilate into American society.

What do you think?

Interesting.

Since there's now no clear ethnic majority here in California, it's only a sign of things to come.

But, what of learning English?

I'm Hispanic and I grew up in New Orleans, and it depresses the hell out of me.

New Orleans was a melting pot of many cultures and personalities and I'm afraid that with the influx of cheap labor, predominantly Hispanic the original culture of the city will evaporate.

If I wanted to see San Antonio, or El Paso I would have just moved there. New Orleans was unique and I fear that it will lose some of that...

It will certainly be an improvement from the days when New Orleans was awash with the catered to underclass that infested it's housing projects. Thank God for Katrina
