Im sick and tired of buying nail varnish that claims not to chip but chips not long after I apply it (and I havent done anything with my hands). Does anyone know of a nail varnish that *is* chip resistant (at least for 24/48 hours)? Id like a brand in a wide range of colours. Thanks.

The answer is really simple. But the best polish out there is OPI. OPI prevents your nails from turning yellow and it shines after the polish is dry. The secret is when you polish the color on, you would need to polish the tip of your nails too. Most people make that mistake by not polishing it which makes the polish to peel off easy. so just remember... when polishing.... polish the tip of your nails. and by the tip.. i mean the part where your nails stop. I hope you understand what i`m saying. if only yahoo let you draw pictures. lol... well... oh yea.. also to remember to apply base coat then color then top coat.. which leads to healthy beautiful nails. i hope this helps.

I have tried the Sally Hansens Maximum Growth Nail Polish and it really works without chipping. The only thing is that it applies on clear. But maybe if you wear it under and over the desired color nail polish it may last a little longer than others. Hope this helps.

Honestly, I have never found one. The only way that I was able to keep my nail polish on was to have acrylic or gel nails placed over my natural nails. Something about the acrylic or gel causes the polish to really adhere and I could go 2 weeks without needing to replace the polish. I am not easy on my hands and nails and they really got a workout, typing, washing dishes, scrubbing floors, working in the garden.

You could try OPI colors. They have a great selection of colors from clear to black and everything in between. They also have a fairly good top coat, so you could try that.

The secret is in the base and top coat - applying nail varnish alone just isn't enough. Revlon do a great base coat and speed dry top coat, OPI is excellent as is Sally Hansen, but I have found that the range from Claire's Accessories (icing?) works just as well with a good base and top coat.

Try Sally Hansen, they have a bunch of cool colors and some clear coats that contain minerals and vitamins for your nails to be tough, grow longer, and stay UNCHIPPED and polished.

I find Revlon very good I've been using it for years now, I would definitely recommend a top and base coat as these would prolong your nail enamel wear. Good luck!
