.avi file, the audio is 3 seconds ahead of the video. I am using WMPlayer. What can I do?

Try using VLC media player

This generally happens if there is a rate mismatch between the audio and video codecs.

If you made the video yourself from say a camcorder. Make it again but try to use a know format.

if you didn't make it your self then you need to get the stats from the video and make sure that you have the right codecs to interpret it.

the best thing to use is a program called virtualdub. load up your avi and then goto audio and select interleaving. you can try setting the interload to 100ms that usually works, if not then you can get it by adjusting the audio skew correction

if you copied the movie form a DVD its copy right protected so they do that to ruin the movie,
use a program called dvd shrink to rip the dvd
or download updates for windows media player, or use a different player
