I have a 10,000 dissertation due on Friday but I have not started it yet.

I keep procrastinating thinking that it will write itself.

Is that possible?

Can a peice of coursework write itself ?

I think they usually give you about a year to write a dissertation in because they want you to have loads of time researching it and drafting it so yours becomes the Most Excellent Dissertation in the World Ever.
I think most students then react with a 'Oh, I have plenty of time' sort of reaction followed by an enjoyment of life and living that does not involve much dissertation writing, while the Deadline looms ever closer.
My friends and I even classed the words 'dissertation' and 'dissertate' as swear-words.
An interesting question for polls and surveys would be to find out what proportion of students actually finished their dissertation before the due date, I mean, say, a couple of months early, not 'Monday but it wasn't due till Friday'.
I see that you are procrastinating even further by spending your valuable minutes that are ticking away from you, by asking questions like this when let's face it, I think you KNOW the answer.
GET WRITING!!

My goodness I hope you are joking because if not you're seriously going to blow it!!!

When you say you haven't yet started it do you mean you have done no work whatsoever for your disseration or simply haven't done the final write up? If you have done work on it and have some form of notes/ information/data that you have collected then yes you probably could write it all up in a FEW days (not one day!!!). If you have only chosen a topic for your disseration and done absolutely no work/research on it then I would get down to your University admissions department and see about resitting your year because you're going to fail buddy.

No it won't write itself and since your discussing a dissertation I'm presuming you're in your final year so just think of all the years of hard work (or maybe not!!) that you're about to throw away...

Good luck...you're going to need it

If this is true, i feel really bad for you. Get some coffee and start writing all day. The blank pages will stare back at you, and it will never write itself.

I managed 10,000 words in one day of Drama coursework but it was totally made up rubbish.

I reccomend the use of breaks to scream and hit everything in sight as a way of destressing when you have breaks though...

Good luck!

im 29 and in my first year at uni and i already know thats not pos

you could cheat and rip off someone elses work this would lead to failling so not a good idea(if ya got caught) maybe the idea would not to have spent all your time in the pub cos that is what we students do apparently

While you might be able to write it in one day, the work will not write itself. Good luck? or Good luck!
