I think it is a mixture of things.... first they are usually very creative, rebellious types. They might feel misunderstood and express themselves through music. Then, suddenly, fame (and all the money that comes with it) comes along. They find themselves surrounded by a bunch of people and a bunch of partying and drugs. Sometimes they feel disappointment because being a rock star isn't all that they thought it would be. Despite their popularity and success in music, they end up feeling more lonely than ever. I think this is the point at which those who do not have a strong emotional foundation or a strong support system might turn to drugs to escape. And, often they overdose and die.

I don't think that rock stars are any more statistically inclined to kill themselves than say carpenters. On the other hand, we hear about it more because they are high-profile. There is a lot of loneliness, manipulation and addiction that rock stars can go through to get big. Maybe that's why. Good question!

Not just rock stars- its actors and other entertainers too. If u were living the dream- free women all day, endless parties and drugs, endless adulation from fans- and all of a sudden it stops and not even your agent wants to take ur calls, ud probably want to kill yourself too. Entertainment is a brutal business with a very short life span. Once ur off the roller coaster- ur life is basically over, unless u have a plan for life after fame- which most ppl dont.

Drugs, stress, lack of proper rest. It could be several things. Just the pressure of popularity and the constant busy schedule which can lead to physical exhaustion. The mind is a funny thing. Failure in life can be devastating but so can over success.

because they are mostly drug addicted psychos who come from poor families, so when they finally get fame and money, they dont know how to handle it and either overdose or develop mental problems.

I think maybe cause their lives are takin away and the drus are so tempting. I really think they really are just plain crazy!!!
