I have had it for a little less then a year and I still have the same ring in from when i first got it pierced. I have been trying to get it off so I can put a new one in but it wont come off. is there any way that I can make it easier to take off without going back to the place I got it pierced to have them take it off?

The same thing happened to me (although I didn't have mine in a year) and I had to use pliers to twist off the ball because I about rubbed my fingertips raw trying to get that sucker off.
Mine was a small hoop, not the barbell, so I had a friend of mine hold the hoop real tight while I twisted the ball off with the pliers...the ball ended up flying across the room, never to be found again.
Be careful and good luck.

If its a barbell- get a friend and 2 sets of pliers. One to hold the the bar, and one to twist the ball off. Make sure you are turning the right ball, usually both the top and bottom twist off. If it's a ring you need a special set of pliers that have a groove on the outside, the grooves hold the ring in place, when you squeeze it opens the ring up so the ball pops out. Best bet: go back to where you got it done.

If the ball is too tight, them out on rubber gloves and try to take it off since rubber has better traction to metal, if that dont work and you REALLY dont wanna go back to the place you got it done get someone you can trust to use plyers to twist the ball off. But of course if all else fails just to back to the place and they will most likely do it for free. Thats what I had to do :)

What type of jewelry are you wearing right now? Different styles have different closures. I've found that wearing surgical gloves helps you get a better grip on the jewelry and makes it easier to unscrew the closures.

No- it sounds pretty gross that it's stuck in there- when you get something pierced, you're supposed to make sure it doesn't do that, I don't see how you could have been that negligent of it... poor belly!
