Do you have dry skin in some areas, if your skin is dry and it probly is this time of year, it's regenerating itself and that may cause your foundation to wear off faster. Does it always fade in the same area? You may want to try a foundation with moisturizers in it also you can get a face setting power for after your moisturizer that may help. good luck

I suggest that firstly you find out your skin type if your fountain is coming off it suggests that you are either not leaving enough time after moisturising or your skin type is oily or combination which means your producing a lot of oil and moisture therefore by using the wrong fountain it is causing it to run off and preventing it settleing so i suggest firstly finding out your skin type and if its is oily buying a facial wash such as loreal garnier pore wash in a blue tub which will soak up the excess oil. then follow it will a toner that has witch hazel ingredient and a moisturiser that is for oily skin. Most brands have offer all different ones for all different skin types. If is not this and you have not got oily or combination skin then like the other suggestions you have received you should make sure that after moisturising you have left sufficient type before applying fountain and use a sponge which will prevent you putting too much coverage on that you do not need after that by using a compact powder instead of loose then you will help it set on the face. It does sound that it is a skin type problem and not using the right products then the other. good luck

Max Factor is ok but it is still quite a cheap brand and with foundation, you definitely get what you pay for. I used to use Max Factor myself but it never stayed put and the coverage wasn't that good. The most fantastic foundation ever is Double Wear by Estee Lauder topped with Clinique pressed powder. Make sure you're wearing a good moisturizer like a Clarins one, wait ten minutes after applying it, then smooth on the foundation and set with soft dabs of the powder. Your skin will look like a model's and you will be thrilled with the results. I've never looked back since I switched to the better brands.

You should consider two options:

1. Use a make up primer. Philosophy has one called The Gift and I also have a Laura Gellar one called "spackle" that I got as a freebie from Sephora. Let them set really well before putting on your foundation.

2. Consider using a powder foundation like i.d. escentuals - Bare Minerals.

I have very big pores, and I also have a fairly ruddy complexion with lots of red and roseaca. I was afraid that Bare Minerals wouldn't give me adequate coverage and I was so wrong. It really works better than just about anything I've ever used.

The liquid foundation that works best for me is Clinique Super Fit. It gives me great coverage that lasts.

Firstly imagine tryna paint on a stone-clad wall... Difficult isn't it?
Now pictur painting a nice smoot plastered wall... Easier, no?

Try having a good weekly exfolaition... I have the same problem and this is my solution!

Secondly ignore ALL recommendations for foundations you will undoubtedly be given. Foundation truely is a pot-luck business. My advice is to head to town on a sunny day with sone patience and some baby wipes. Go into your chemists and department stores and try the foundations on your jaw line (one on each side) go outside, look at yourself in the mirror, decide if it's smooter, the right colour etc and then wipe off. Repeat until you have your soul-mate foundation.

If you're lucky it'll be one of the £2.99 collection 2000 ones :)

Happy shopping!!!

Maybe you are not using the correct skin care or foundation for your skin type...besure to use something that is formulated to your skin type and use a loose or pressed powder on top of the liquid foundation and apply the powder with a brush, not a sponge. Be sure to let the liquid dry before applying the powder.

Give it 10 mins for your moisturiser to be absorbed.
Also apply powder (pressed or loose) over your foundation. It will keep it in place for hours longer (depending on the brand).
I use Elizabeth Arden loose powder... I love it. It keeps my make-up in place all day and doesn't give that flat matte look either. It has lovely shimmering particles in it which gives a nice glow to my skin.

Give it chance for your moistouriser to soak into your skin before applying the foundation, otherwise they will merge together and your foundation will rub off realy easily. if you leave your moistouriser 5-10 minutes before applying the foundation, it should stay on your face for the whole day and not rub off as easy.

After moisturising, apply a good primer (Laura Mercier and Smashbox do excellent ones) wait about 15-20 mins then start to apply your make-up. It will stay on all day.

Good Luck

What you need to do is apply after your foundation is loose powder. Loose powder will set your make up and provides staying power for your make up. It contains oil absorbers so it will last all day.
