maybe, there have been new articles that indicate he's thinking about leaving at seasons end, the mariners might as well get something in return by trade instead of just letting him go at seasons end.

Seattle would never trade Ichiro to another team because he is happy in Seattle and the team is also making a lot of money by having ichiro on the team. To many tourism from his country come all the way to Seattle just to see him play and the mariners also have some TV contracts and with japan or china, and the bring revenue money for the team.

I'd be very surprised if he ever leaves Seattle. I think the Japanese players have more loyalty to their teams and fans than do any other ball players. He'll get a better contract but won't be the guy demanding an outrageous contract that so many players do these days.

No but its a nice thought if you're a Red Sox fan. I'm not a fan of neither the Red Sox nor Yankees, but I love to watch their rivalry. Imagine those two bidding for his services much as they did for A-Rod and others. But he's going to die a Mariner. Too bad

No he is the face of the franchise, he's not just popular in Seattle but also in a growing market of Japan so he is worth holding onto until he wants to leave.

He has as much chance of playing in Boston as Derek Jeter. He will most likely go to the Yankees

I don't think he will go to Boston. With the money they spent, I don't know if they can afford him. If they can, then they must really be desperate. It doesn't matter, the Yankees are still going to win the World Series.

Are you kidding me? The Mariners would be completely stupid to let him go! But then again they let Ken Griffey, The Big Unit and a few others go, didn't they ... ?

He'll be in Seattle for the length of his career. Seattle needs him and won't let him go.
