USB SoundBlaster Audigy 2 NX by Creative Labs, available for around £80, (you can get the basic one for around £40 or the PCMCIA version for around £100, but the USB version is the most versatile in my opinion).

I prefer the Creative Labs sound cards, they make quite a few USB devices ranging in price
