Buying new wheels, wondering what the backspacing should be.

Not sure what it should be but measure the stock rims.
Lay the rim without tire on it on a flat surface inside down.
Measure the distance from flat surface to center of rim to where the rim bolts to hub.

Go with Old Man Wrench. Never ever change the back spacing when thinking about new wheels. If you want to go wider do it on the outward face only and keep the standard back space. I have an S-10 four wheeler and I wouldn't go too wild adding the outward width. You'll be tossing mud. stones, sand, salt and other trash on your doors and rear quarter panels. This will ruin your paint.
