Mexican over African Americans?

Why do employers favor Mexican over Black employees? I travel across the US and just every where the two groups compete for jobs, Mexican get hired---Fed. Government/Post office the exceptions. And some of those jobs command fairly good wages... Why?

True or not, Black employees have a reputation of being troublesome and not too productive. A percenatge of government jobs are handed to Blacks and the rest of the employees are expected to do the job for them. This is not true in every case, but it is common enough.

There is always one in every group who tray and play the race card like the answer above (driving a wage, bla, bla,bla, bla). The fact of the matter remains: Mexicans are very good workers and contrary to many believers often times draw fair wages...That's why Mexican are surpassing blacks in America. Just look at how many more Mexican businesses than Black business across America. It's not about driving a wedge...its abt reality. MEXICANS ARE WAY BETTER WORKERS!

Mexicans are hard working and family oriented, if they are illegal they can be deported when the employer does not want them anymore, they get paid zilch in the USA but compared to Mexican standards its a fortune, they are grateful for a job and for the opportunity to make a better life for themselves. Maybe that would explain it.

So, flow tell the government to quit w/ their labeling equipment & those politicians, media & everybody to provide up attempting to divide everybody then, i mean even the election has been approximately race no longer basically American, "who're the Mexican-individuals in south Texas going to vote for" why no longer basically say AMERICAN, you tell me? on each occasion i say i'm Mexican, i'm only figuring out w/ my custom & it rather is it, for sure i stay in u . s . a . & characterize that to the fullest! you're Italian or American as you're saying, yet you do no longer communicate for all of them, some little ones i've got time-commemorated are continually saying how large Italy is (they have on no account even been there) & have their flags everywhere, no longer one be conscious with regard to the united states of a comes out of their mouth....

Probably because companies feel the need to hire more bi-lingual individuals. In most parts of the U.S., there is a rapid number of Spanish speakers. Therefore, I suppose companies are trying to keep up with the ever-changing United States.

Why are racists trying to drive a non-existent wedge in between Blacks and Latinos? I, as a proud Black Man who works in special education, alongside of many wonderful people. Many of whom are Latinos y Latinas, have no problem with any person earning an honest wage. There are hard workers in every creed of men. You know that. I know that. Everyone knows it. Your attempt at creating cross racial animosity is a juvenile ploy to gain ignorant response fom the masses. In short, Kiss Our Masses!

The reason they hire more Mexicans because many that they're hiring are illegal. They don't have to pay them the Federal minimum wage. With African Americans, who are citizens they have to pay them the Federal minimum wage. It's about cheap labor not race.

mexicans support one another more (which means another mexican probably hooked up the job) and are stereotypically hard workers.
Based on my experiences, mexicans get picked over me because they had more connections and support. That's all.

my mother hired a mexican over an african american because mexicans are cheaper and dont demand higher wages. her gardner is mexican and the housekeeper is puerto rican

I don't know, but as African Americans if could be looked at it in another way, it actually works to their benefit......Its time to be self sufficient and created business....even if it takes 10-20 to group together...its time to cut our losses and move on.....
