i want a divorce so badly but when i try to ask for one, i lose my nerve, i get so scared of what he will do. he has threatened to kill himself before. but i can't live like this much longer. i hate him.

he might just be saying he will kill himself just to get you to stay, but you never know. it is hard to walk out when someone cries and tells you how much they love you. only you can decide if you want out bad enough to take the first step.( in the same boat)

Wow... it seems as if you and your husband are really having some tough times! Have you two, ever went to "marriage counseling" before? Did you know he was suicidal before you married him? If you want a divorce... just start doing your paper work, and send it to the necessary locations. Afterwards, I'm sure your husband will have to sign papers too. If you get a lawyer, make sure you tell him/her his remarks of killing himself, so they'll know. I wish you the BEST of luck!

Just go see a lawyer and have him served with papers. He will have to show up to court and give you the divorce. They can issue a restraining order before they serve him with the papers so that you will be safe in case he gets a little angry.
I had to do all this with my ex because he wanted to stay married til he finished college. Glad I didn't listen to him cause 6 years later, we'd still be married!

Make it happen. Plan it on a day he has to work. Pack all of your things and leave. Make sure that your are gone before he gets home. Have a police officer deliver the papers the same day. Leave no evidence of where you are relocating to. Get out, it is not going to get any better.

Girlfriend, you don't want a divorce. If so it would have already happen, none of his threats would stop u. And if u hate him , y do u care wat he says. Stop lying to yourself. There is no need to ask for one. You pack up your **** make a stop by the court house they will let him know. So I don't believe u. Wat r u scared of he haven't threatened to hurt you. You'll be there until he leave you. And trust me when his ready your feeling want matter at all.

You don't have to ASK for a divorce. Go to a lawyer and file. The only one who is making you miserable is YOURSELF, stop blaming him because YOU won't file for divorce.

Get out! Talk to someone close to both of you and tell them they should try and be supportive of him after the split but remember, you are not responsible for anyone elses actions.

It is odd that you married someone you hate.
I would further state that it is odd that you would even marry someone you could grow to hate. This speaks very badly for what kind of a judge of character you are.
You have made your bed and now you must lie in it. You vowed, "Until death do you part," not "Until I start hating him."

try couceling...he wont kill himslef, i know a couple like this, he has said he is going to kill himself like 20 times and we finally got fed up and said then do it...he stopped being such a baby...do what you want dont let a man hold you back
