I was working maintenance and we were replacing all the dishwasher in the vacants. I finished the first 3 or 4 slowly since it was my first time but successfully. On the next one I started to pull the unit out took of the water feed but forgot to turn the water off! After I recovered from the shock and cleaned off my glasses to see, I found that there wasn't a shut off! Every apt. had it's own main shut off but by the time I got to it and shut it off was already like the Great Lakes in the apt. Never made that mistake again.

They're usually not too hard. The electrical likely plugs in to a wall outlet so it's just a matter of taking the old cord off and putting it on the new one the same way. Even if it's wired directly, it will be wired into a junction box on the wall and won't be a big problem, but unless you're adventurous, remember to shut that breaker off! There should be a couple of screws under the lip of your counter that holds the old dishwasher in place. After you remove those the dishwasher should slide out pretty easily. Once you get in there, you'll see that the connections are relatively simple. Make sure you get the new unit level front to back and side to side and replace those screws and you're done.

if u have a garbage disposal and have never had a dishwasher u have to make sure you have a high spot in the line to prevent disposal drainage into the washer. U also have to make sure you have removed the plug from the place where the washer hooks up if it's a never been washer installation. Oh yeah, turn off the power.

no it is actually pretty simple. just make sure the power is off at the breaker. and run it before closing up the bottom to make sure it don't leak. also make sure you run the drain up over the partition between the dishwasher and sink to avoid siphoning.

Most common mistake, not level. Make sure it's level so it drains properly or you may not find out the consequences for months to come.
