i've got a video recorder and a dvd recorder all in one unit. when i'm recording from a sky channel on my video recorder it stops after 30 mins. any ideas where i'm going wrong

if your taping a movie channel it will stop after 30 mins also as sky dont allow taping of the movies.....so frustating .
also likely any of the above suggestions too.

You could be accidentally pressing the record button twice...this makes them record for 30 Min's..3 times an hour and so on

Be careful not to hit the Timer Record button. On some models, this happens if you press the record button too often. It could also be a problem with your video recorder. Get it checked out by a pro or buy a new DVD/VCR combi.

Are you sure you haven't just got a 30 min tape?

check your instructions....some have a 'one touch record' that will run for 30 minutes or may have other settings (hour, hour and a half etc)
