Good beaches ?.. Nightlife ???... OK for a couple 50ish..

hersonissos is quiet busy ,the next resort down is stalis which in my opinion is much more suited to 50ish .we are in our 50,s and stayed there a couple of years ago .mail me if i can help .if i can remember any places to eat and drink etc .

Hersonissos is a small town 26 km east of Heraklion airport. Thousands of tourists visit Hersonissos every summer and there are many hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs.
Hersonissos is preferred by younger tourists who want to have fun at the beach and enjoy the nightlife. If nightlife is what you want, then Hersonissos is the place for you: several bars and clubs will entertain you until the first morning hours.
There are several beaches in or close to Hersonissos with facilities and watersports offered in most of them.

I have visited the island of Crete 4 times. Hersonissos is a great place to stay. The beaches in Crete are very beautifull. The nightlife there is fantastic. Hersonissos is a very touristic place and is always busy. Food is absolutely delicious. Age doesn't matter. Enjoy your holidays!
Don't forget to pay a visit to Knossos.

I am 42 and I can't stand Hersonissos more than a couple of hours. I cannot imagine spending my whole vacation there. With all the clubs there it is like a madhouse for people who want to spend their nights drunk and their days recovering from the hangover

Its a bit loud. Quite a few clubs and bars. You should try Sisi if you like tradition. Beautiful little village with a idillic harbour. xx
