go onto control panel then select apperence and themes then select ya mouse or go on cusor mania and download

Assuming you're using Windows XP, go to:
Start button,
Control Panel,
Mouse icon,
select the "pointer Options" tab
in the third section down called "Visibility" there's an option to "display pointer trails" - put a tick in the box and click apply and OK.

Easy, click on Start then Control Panel then Appearance & Themes then Mouse and the world is your oyster. Have fun

It may just just be dirty inside (where the ball is). There are little wheels on either side of the ball that get gunk on them from the mouse pad. Try cleaning them and see if that works. Mine does that every so often.
