Go with The Essential - Stevie Ray Vaughan. 2 cd's of his best. You get Pride And Joy, Texas Flood, Couldn't Stand The Weather, blistering live versions of The Sky is Crying and Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Little Wing, Crossfire, The House is Rockin', Tightrope plus many others. Grand total of 33 tracks including Telephone Song and Long Way from home recorded with his brother Jimmy Vaughan (of the Fabulous T-Birds).

I recommend Stevie Ray Vaughan's Greatest Hits. You can get it for $14.95 on Amazon.com. It has some of Stevie's hottest licks and tastiest tidbits.

Couldn't Stand the Weather
1. "Scuttle Buttin'" - Great fast instrumental rocker
2. "Couldn't Stand The Weather" - Maybe his best song ever
3. "The Things (That) I Used To Do" - Nice blues cover
4. "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" - Awesome Hendrix cover
5. "Cold Shot" - Catchy minor blues that groves
6. "Tin Pan Alley" - Slow minor blues
7. "Honey Bee" - Nice rockin blues
8. "Stang's Swang" - Sweet instrumental minor Jazz blues
9. "SRV Speaks" - The next 5 songs added on latest CD release
10. "Hide Away" - Old Freedie King cover(Clapton did it with the Blues Breakers as well)
11. "Look At Little Sister" -
12. "Give Me Back My Wig" (Hound Dog Taylor)¹
13. "Come On (Pt.III)"¹
All in all I think this album shows a lot of diversity in his playing that most of the others don't. If you go down the "greatest hits" road, you miss out on gems like "Stang's Swang" and "Hide Away". You can't go wrong with this one.

without going into any of the greatest hits or compilation albums (that's a cop out), his greatest album by far is texas flood. 'pride and joy', mary had a little lamb', 'lenny', love struck baby'...all of them classic.
