There are 3 major sports - baseball, football, and basketball. Hockey used to be one, but it has really fallen off the map since the idiots started the lockout. Football and basketball have a center. Baseball has a centerfielder... but not a center. 2 major sports.

You can consider center midfielder, center forward or center halfback as "center" positions in soccer. And I consider soccer a major sport since every other country in the world besides the US does.

First, please give us your definition of MAJOR sports.
Hockey has centres. They play between the left and right wingers.
Football has centres. The quarterback receives the ball from the centre.
Basketball has centres, whom they generally refer to a "big men".
Baseball has centre fielders. I don't know if you want to include that or not. But baseball also recognizes that if you defense ins't strong up the middle, aka those players in the centre of the diamond, it won't get anywhere.
Soccer has centre forwards.
What else do you consider to be a major sport?
