ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

It's a very broad comparison. Aside from the obvious weather difference, there's a huge difference in the culture and in the atmosphere. I prefer Orange County, so you're close to a greater variety of activities (like the theater and museum scene in LA, the beach, fancy restaurants). But that's just my personality to prefer those things. If I were more of a nature and outdoorsy person, I might prefer Alaska.

Also, my family is in LA/OC, so I would never be able to leave anyway. Gotta stay close to loved ones. :o)

I prefer Alaska over Orange County CA or Orange County FL for that matter.

You've got to be kidding! There is no comparison except whether you like it cold or sunny. I definanlty prefer Orange County, CA to just about anywhere in the usa.
