Pros and cons of eliminating congressional earmarks??

There are no cons. Earmarks allow many idiot politicians to sneak their own little agendas (unnoticed) into other bills. This is how our government is responsible for it's rampant spending. Our country is suffering because of earmarks. The line item veto is a great tool to resolve this issue, but not enough.

Eliminating the entire tax code would help our country. Anything short of that is a minimal showing of effort at best.

pro...saves money to pay down the deficit and protect our country instead of building bridges to nowhere, or giving money to study monkeys in the wilds of philadelphia..
cons..stops money from flowing into the economy via small works projects for incumbents that keep trying to get elected...
