I am an American. I have seen things over the past 5 years that I can and cannot appreciate. The Islamic Fundamentalist threat is real my fellow Americans. Whether it has been waged right or wrong. The Iraqi dictator Saddam was not allowed to be trusted. I really do not know were the delicacy of this country ever went to. I am trying to find the unity we once had on that beautiful September morning. A nation that I believe can find it in our hearts to move on with this bickering over the wars in Iraq abd Afghanistan. I am hurt by the politizing that has taken place due to the power grab in Washington D.C. I am not Democrat or Republican. I am not Liberal or Conservative. I am American. Born and raised here. I am an American. The enemies are Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda, Nasrallah, Ahmandeinjad, and every known terrorist that threatens our way of life. Lets become united.

I don't understand why it's so much easier to fight and kill than it is to listen and cooperate with each other, but it is. How do you protect yourself from people who think they are following their conscience? When is killing another justified? Why are you considered a coward if you don't want to kill others? Why is it so difficult to follow in Ghandi's footsteps, instead of fighting and killing?

I feel for you, friend, but you're missing an important point: to become united, a middle-ground has to be agreed on; a site upon which to unite. Where do we become united? Like it or not, the war in Iraq started already. Where do we compromise? How do you get one side or the other to admit they are wrong about anything? This issue MUST be resolved before there can be any uniting. I'm not going to say how, because I don't think this is the forum for that discussion, but what you are asking is virtually impossible unless one side gives in. Yeah, everyone wants to be united... but everyone wants to be united on THEIR terms.

Hi,

It is a true threat, BUT you have to ask yourself WHY it is a threat.

Is it a threat because of hatred.. if so then sure.. you need ot fight it off..

Personally though, I see it as a threat because the fundamentalists who represent nearly 30% of this planet's population are people who tend to live very simple lives, often living off the land and with little money and sadly for them they've suffered the most with rising sea levels, with salinitiy of lands with, loss of clean water, global warming and all the other ills CREATED by nations like USA.

This is what the REAL issues are. Sadly the US media has presented fundamentalists as a pack of raving terrorists, which is definately not true because if it were there would have been a lot more bombings.. and lets face it.. the opportunities are everywhere in a modern society..

Fundamentalism is a threat but mostly to the economy and not to individuals health.. if anything fundamentalism is GOOD for people's health because if we believe these terrible islamists we'd be living in a much cleaner and purer environment, which is one of their KEY points, that somehow is ignored in the media.

That's right.. fundamentalists are also environmentalists. But you wouldn't know it because you only know them as terrorists, which is a lie!!

Break it down.. FUNDAMENTAL ... what does that word mean???

Also, you say anyone who threatens YOUR WAY OF LIFE is an enemy.. isn't that incredibly selfish??? and arrogant?? YOUR way of life has caused the polar caps to melt.. YOUR way of life has created space full of junk, YOUR way of life has caused a dozen wars since WW2 ended.. YOUR way of life has created a highly dysfuntional society (yes USA is dysfunctional-big time), YOUR way of life has caused MASS destruction to the environment, YOUR way of life has caused Pacific Islanders to abandon their island homes..

Maybe you need to CHANGE your selfish way of life.. and who knows.. maybe embrace fundamentalism yourself and we'll all be happy.. its not about religion.. its about STOP RUINING OUR PLANET!!!

The real threat is people like you, willing terror and bloodshed on the people of Lebanon and Iran, not content with the blood that has been spilled in Iraq. Ahmandeinjad has not attacked another nation, not invaded another country, not bombed anywhere else. the USA has under George Bush alone bombed the impoverished nation of Sudan, invaded and destroyed the pathetic attempt at infrastructure that existed in Afghanistan (allowing a massive oil project though) and unleashed the most horrific and terrifying hell on earth in Iraq. now people like you are itching for more terror to be unleashed. Shame on you.

We win the way any conflict is won. via making it impossible for the enemy to proceed. If which potential killing them, removing their ability to garner investment, destroy their weapons, making their reason look lots extra unattractive than it did to attainable recruits all of those methods. they won't be able to salary conflict without investment, weapons, people and new recruits. those recruits come from the ranks of undesirable Muslims that purchase into the extremists' lies. as quickly as those infants see the possibility of their lives convalescing in places like Afghanistan and unfastened Iraq they are going to be much less enticed to connect. . .
