Wrap a black bin bag around your arm, and get you hand down there to remove any obstruction, and hope its not blocked up all the way back from the manhole. I have had quite a few of them.

Get a carrier bag and blow it up, then (you might want some rubber gloves for this bit) with the blown up bag press down onto the water as if it were a plunger, this has worked for me in the past. if it doesn't then another thing I had to do was use a metal coat hanger, wasn't nice. Good luck

A plunger is best, but try hot water.
After the water goes down, pour a pot of almost boiling water down the toilet. It may help break up what ever the blockage is.

You can straighten out a wire coat hanger, with a pair of pliers if you have them. Then bend a small hook on one end of the wire, push it down the toilet as far round the bend as it will go, twisting it as it goes, then carefully pull it out. The blockage should come out with it. I've done this several times and it always works eventually. How ever it is advisable to wear rubber gloves and keep your mouth shut during the job.

I would buy a plunger and a mop. It makes your life easier and it gets the job done faster. They dont cost that much anyway

Open the top of your toilet, and pull up the wire with the big ball on the end, that should make the water go down, but won't unclog it.

Lift the drain cover outside your property(main sewer) you might find that the problem starts there....if you want to tackle the problem indoors try using a wire coat hanger or buy a flexirod from your local diy store.

Blimey! That was one hell of a stool!! The water WILL go down eventually in which case, you'll have to put on a rubber glove & fish out the "obstruction". Good luck!

Try poking about with a wire coat hanger (un wound) to try and free up a channel for the liquid to escape.
Good Luck!!!
