Dont include any self-contradictory points. If at all you do, you must not make your point look self-contradictory. Eg:-
Statement:Some punishment is required to enforce discipline in schools.
Contradiction: Then why aren't students disciplined?
Statement:Punishment is effective when given at a right time, in right amount and in appropriate ways, etc
You must have enough ideas, data, statistics to support your opinion if your opinion doesn't have public support. You must sound as though you were forced to form a particular opinion after considering all the statistics, or some particular event.
Eg:-Exam is not a complete measure of subject comprehension.
Your opinion should be all-inclusive. It helps, when you suddenly come across a point for which you were not well-prepared.
While formulating an opinion, cite all those examples that most of the people from audience have experienced or could identify with.

You need to start with a premise that is fact, and that everyone can agree with. After that, you can come to a sound conclusion. Example: All men are mortal
Socrates is a man
Socrates is mortal.
there, simple and to the point.

Listen to what the other person is saying(and NOT thinking about your going to say). Don't react...think!
Also, you need to separate your emotions from your logical side, and also keep the tone of your voice at an even keel

youre a woman, you should know instinctively.just take an irrational stance and dig in,your wailing voice rising in an ever more demonic crescendo until your opponent concedes just to shut you up.if that doesnt work, try showing a little cleavage.
