Just because they don't like this individual, they want me to not-like this person too. The problem is, I have good conversations with this person and generally get along with this person.

Just because they don't like that person, gives you no reason not to like them. Who cares what they think if you talk to that person or are friends with them. Your friends can't pick and choose who you talk to and are friends with, only you can do that. So, I would just ignore what your friends are saying or doing and still talk and get along with that other person.

ARE YOU STILL IN FIRST GRADE? MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICES IF YOU LIKE THIS PERSON AND THEY DONT MAYBE THEY ARE THE ONES WITH THE PROBLEM.IT IS CRUEL TO BE SHUT OUT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES NOT LIKE YOU.I SEE NO REASON TO GIVE UP YOUR FRIEND IF THERE IS A REASON A GOOD REASON THEY ADVISE YOU THIS WAY THEN YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS,LIKE IS THE PERSON A DRUNK,DRUG ADDICT OR DRUG DEALER? MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.

I would just ignored them. You are who you are. You don't need to do what other people want you to do. Just be yourself, if you are naturally nice, be nice with everyone, but only YOU can pick who you wanna be friends with.
