Good old Wikipedia to the rescue:
"a rough generalization distinguishes the "concert grand", (between about 2.2 m to 3 m long) from the "boudoir grand" (about 1.7 m to 2.2 m) and the smaller "baby grand" (which may be shorter than it is wide). All else being equal, longer pianos have better sound"

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Just length. Baby grands fit in a home, or a small stage, but a GRAND piano is that huge long, Billy Joel style one.

I have a yamaha. Yamaha is a good trusted brand. Pianos sound better then keyboards and are more enjoyable to play, but keyboards are better for song writers because you can plug them into your computer and record with a midi cord. I recommend yamaha for a keyboard. Enjoy!
