I saw it. It was alright, but the singing got a bit annoying, and the movie kind of depressed me. What do you lot think?

I liked the movie and only because I like musicals. But it was a little depressing. The happiest part was the beginning when the girls were given the opportunity to sing with Eddie Murphy's character. But when they became a group on its own everything went wrong. I thought Jennifer Hudson did an amazing job, Beyonce was ok although I am a big fan of her. But I will definitely put this in my DVD collection along with Chicago and many others.

Amazing. It's rare for musicals to be made these days but this just goes to show we should have more of them! I'm also a big fan of biographical films, like What's Love Got to Do With It (Tina Turner) and Walk the Line (Johnny Cash), so I thought this one was brilliant. Jamie Foxx was absolute class, Eddie Murphy showed his versatility, Beyonce was beautiful and Jennifer Hudson's voice, although very overpowering, was incredible to listen to. Great film and I'm buying it on dvd!

i was hoping to be blown away by it but was disapointed.
loved the stage numbers and the story but it failed in the songs where they just burst into song during an argument, it would have been ok but this did not start until half way through the film so it suddenly changed into a different kind of film.
It even got to the point where my cinema audience were giggling and groaning when jennifer hudson started to warble again, the one song about not leaving jamie foxx just seemed to go on and on and on...such a shame

I was a little disappointed. I expected more from that movie. And I'm not surprised that Beyonce didn't get nominated. To me she didn't even look like the female lead. Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say. But the movie was alright.
