You have a right to say you don't want to go anywhere if you do not like it. If people get into a strop it is their problem. It's a shame you couldn't have told her straight away though, It is annoying when people say yes when they have no intention of going and let you down at the last minute unless it is with good reason.
At least you gave it a try, we all have to compromise sometimes. Explain to her that you thought it through and you feel bad about letting her down, but you are being honest, it is not for you.
Never feel pressured about going somewhere if when you say yes, you are thinking of a reason to get out of it! We've all been there (both sides!)

Dear abbi, ,just be honest and tell your friend that you did'nt enjoy karate very much and you are sorry you did'nt say sooner.
Maybe if your up to it you could support her by going as a spectator, take a magazine or something if you wish.
This way your friend still gets your support, but you don't have to do the karate yourself.
Apologise to your friend and i think it will soon be forgotten.Good Luck.

Everybody makes mistakes, at least you are being honest so I don't think she'll not forgive. She'll be dissappointed but she'll get over it. i think she is your friend and she'll understand that you were bored.
just tell her that you are sorry. you didn't mean to fail your promise or to ring her late. it's just karate and nothing else so she won't get that mad at you.
good luck

Just because you are friends does not mean you have to like everything the other does. It is cause you have different interests that make your friendship good as you have different things to chat about. I am sure she will understand

You should have told her the truth and that would have given her time to find someone else. To remain friends you need to apologise to her and be truthful in future

I'm sure that she'll understand. You obviously care about her and her feelings and I'm sure that she'll see that. Don't worry :)
