but Mexican cant be called American , eventhough they were born in the same continent. how´s that ? They say America is just U.S.A. when is actually the whole continent.

The name of our country is the United States of America. So anyone born here is American. Someone born in Mexico, because that is the name of their country, is Mexican. A person can be of Mexican descent but still be American if they are born in the United States of America. Any naturalized citizen of the US can also call himself American. Wherever you were born, you should be proud of your heritage. Canadians don't want to call themselves Americans, so why should Mexicans? Most importantly, we are all citizens of the world, and it is time to start acting like it and stop fighting amongst ourselves if we are to have any kind of future for our children. There are enough resources on our planet for everyone if they are used correctly. Think about that and stop worrying about trivial namecalling.

Canadians may call themselves Americans if they so choose. If you live on the continent of Africa you call yourself an African...but you also call youself by the NAME of your country...such as if you are from Sudan, you refer to yourself as Sudanese. I cannot help it is Candadians choose not to call themselves American. Mexico is in CENTRAL AMERICA, so they could call themselves Central Americans OR Mexicans. They same holds true for South Americans. They are South Americans as well as say...Columbians.
