They are not big spiders at all - just tired commuters crawling home on hands and knees.

Errrr. I think this was a plug for a sci-fi TV programme "Primeval" on ITV. A sort of Dr. Who look-alike. I saw part of the programme (it was rubbish). The plot involved giant man-eating spiders crawling around the tunnels of the London Underground.

So, sorry, no spiders. But I myself have often seen rats down there!

grpr 1964 is right, and the programme was more than silly. The giant spiders were joined by a 20ft centipede! Stories are based around a 'portal' to 200 million years ago!
