I've read that Southern Republicans, on average, have much lower IQ's than the rest of us, and my experiences with them indicates it is absolutely fact. It doesn't seem fair and I doubt it is there fault. Is there any cure for this problem?

tmills883 is right, quote your source. Would you say that former President Jimmy Carter has a low IQ? Methinks not, definitely not. As for Clinton, he was shrewd, so how can this be unintelligent?

Southerners are no dumber or smarter than anyone else. Some are very intelligent. Look at Mark Twain, William Faulkner - who won the Nobel Price for literature in 1949, Tennessee Williams, and Margaret Mitchell - who wrote Gone With the Wind.

Oh yeah, look at Dr Phil!

Average, by definition is 100. If you have 109 IQ, you are average, which is a good thing. Anything plus or minus 10 IQ points is average. IQ tests are flawed (cultural and gender bias, even language bias), but they are mostly helpful in getting additional help for someone with a lower IQ. A good IQ test can tell a lot - for instance, if someone is actually very bright, but has some sort of learning disability and thus often scores low on tests. My high school chum was moved to a private school because he wasn't challenged enough based on his IQ test. Turned out to be exactly right as he did much better with a tougher curriculum. Today, in my state, those type of high school kids are usually early enrolled in college in their Junior year.

In history you will find that most of our American leaders came from the South such as George Washington, Patrick Henry, Stephen Foster, Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet etc. The King of RandR, Elvis is from Mississippi and Tennessee. Others such as Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, Sam Houston are from Tennessee. What do you mean?Do you think that these guys had a low IQ? I think not !Oh, I forgot Bill Clinton is from the South so maybe your partly right!

No, not at all, its a lot more complicated than just being a southerner...the appearance that southerners aren' as smart as yanks has to do with social climate through history as well as cultural...not to mention government factors

Yes there is a cure for this problem. People like you, stating 'you read' this information. Quote your source. It makes your statement more valid and doesn't make it sound like an opinion.
