there will be a tiny piece in the back of the hard drive which covers two pins, you have to take it out and make it cover 2 other pins
look at the instructions on the hard drive to see which pins

on th eback or an internal drive there are sever al rows of "pins" that diffrent cables connect. There is a set for the drive cable that connects to you drive. the master (old C drive needs to go at the end of the drive cable. The second connection point 1/3 of the way from the end is the secondary(slave drive) connection.
The Jumpers are a set of pins on the end of teh drive. Somewere on the drive will be a key to the pin setting or Jumpers as they are also called. Carfully pull off the black "jumper" looks like a tiny plastic cube. Jump the correct pait of pins in the configuration shown on the drive. Or go to the drive manufacterer home page and view the manual for your drive. Be sure to pick the right manual because miss aligned jumpers can "fry" they drive..this btw is not a good thing to do. Reconnect the drives, and the power to each and close yur computer box. Be sure to discharge any static by touching the fan/power box each time you touch any internal components.

It's not a switch, it's a little thing on the back of the harddrive that slides onto the pins.

Take a look at that picture. You take the jumper off and slide it into the pins that say "SL" or "Slave". Then just connect it normally.

Hi. The jumpers are little pieces of plastic with metal in them that you remove from pins on the back of the hard drive. The pins will be labeled (sometimes hard to see) with MA, SL, and CS. Set one to MA and one to SL. Ignore the CS.

There's a little slot in the rear of the hard drive, it has small pins with a little black plastic square box on two of the pins, if you are looking down at the back of the hard drive you will see words etched in the metal, csl, mstr, slv. Here's a picture..
