My girlfriends and I are trying to plan a trip but there is one problem. WE DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT JAMAICA!

I have a few questions:
1) When is the best time to go?
2) Where is the best place to stay (what area/city to visit)
3) Is there anything we need to know about jamaica?

My wife and I were in Jamaica last Summer and we LOVED it. We stayed at Breezes Runaway Bay. You asked "where is the best place to stay?" The answer to this will vary for every person. Ask yourself what you want in a resort. Do you want relaxation or more of a fun resort? Some resorts cater to children while others don't allow children. Still others are very much ADULT (Hedonism resorts). Some have very nice beaches and others little or none. Some resorts are 5 or 6 star while others are 2 or 3. These questions are just a sample of things you need to
decide in choosing a resort.

The best website I have found for researching areas and resorts is TripAdvisor.com. It is full of information that is sent by previous travelers. You can search by country (Jamaica), by area (Negril, for example) or by resort name. After you decide what kind of resort you want then you can start to make a list of potential destinations and cut it down by the research you do. This is actually fun and will get you in the vacation mood long before you leave. Have a great trip!

I would recommend going December-May. Hurricane season starts in June and goes through November. Jamaica is a very beautiful island with a lot of culture. I stayed in Montego Bay but traveled around to different parts of the island. Negril has the most amazing sunset and beach. I would recommend finding a resort there. Ocho Rios is also beautiful and they are close to Dunns River Falls (a waterfall you can climb). As with any place, be careful of your surroundings and stay in groups when you venture off resort property. And definitely check out Margaritaville. Have Fun!!

1. Try the Winter Time when the most tourists are there.
2. I enjoyed Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, but those are cruise areas. Try Kingston or the Beaches/Sandals Resort in Negril.
3. There are some crime problems, but many people are very nice. The culture is fascinating and different.

Lastly, have fun!
It's a great island and worth enjoying!

Anywhere you go there's going ot be crime, so for those who keep bad mouthing Jamaica...the States is not better....you get robbed, killed, and/or beaten here too. But to answer the question the best time to go is anytime, stay in the tourism area....avoid ares such as Kingston....it's a wonderful place but you have to avoid certain areas, as you would where ever you go and just keep researching different areas?

That female from TX is inaccurate. actual Washingtonians do no longer say that the climate is intense-high quality in fact maximum of them desire that they had extra sunlight. There are 2 kinds of human beings, people who like to be getting burnt by potential of the the sunlight and love sweeting and being warm. And people who hate the warmth and comprehend that each and everyone they desire is a sweater or jacket to get heat. in case you like the chilly, you will like Seattle. Heres the version with Seattle. In maximum different states whilst its summer season this is exaggeratedly warm, extra beneficial than ninety´s and whilst its wintry climate it is going under 0, exaggeratedly chilly. In Seattle whilst this is summer season its no longer in the ninety´s very nearly universal, its like in the 80´s and there's a cool breeze and its plenty much less humid than TX. And whilst its wintry climate the coldest it gets is like in the 20´s no longer under 0. So its widely used as a place that may no longer too warm and not too chilly, whilst in comparison with different chilly places. yet once you incredibly hate the chilly climate and the rain then you certainly won't like Seattle. And in case you cant stay with out palm bushes you in addition to might wont like Seattle. the intense-high quality concern approximately Seattle whilst in comparison with TX is that it has Mountains and it has 4 seasons in line with annum. the only concern i admire extra effectual approximately TX is that the nutrition is extra decrease priced and flavor extra effectual. yet that humid warmth is undesirable.

Don't go to Jamaica, it's super dirty. It looks all nice on the web-sites and stuff but when you are actually there, it's not that nice.
