on your laptop, go to www.apple.com and click on the itunes tab. download the newest version of itunes to your laptop and install. reeboot, and connect your ipod to the laptop, with the usb cable it came with. they should synch up and you can import your ipod music/podcasts into itunes for your computer. http://www.apple.com/itunes/sync/

I don't own an iPod so I am just shooting from the hip here, but I think all you have to do is install the iTunes software then you can sync all of your music from your Ipod to your laptop into iTunes.
