i'm a 15 year old girl and my life is crazy. i have to keep my room clean, and do other chores around the house, take care of the animals and clean up after my sibs, going to church (hlping in pre-school class) and other youth group activities.i'm being homeschooled (one of those teach yourselves things, both parents work) Biology, World History, and Algebra 2. I'm dual enrolled at the community college and take World Religions, College Composition, and Word Processing there. I am playing softball (1-2 practice, 2-3 games a week), and i'm in drama and dance goups for my church ( a competition for the arts that we are entering is coming up),not to mention keeping up with friends in othr states that are wondering why i'm not writing back to them ultra quick, and then spending time with my family and working with my Dad for his buisness and babysitting for everyone and their brother. it's too much and i'm falling behind.i love everything that i do, but i can't take it anymore.suggestions?

Talk to your parents, and say them that you need some time for rest. Say them that if i am not resting my grades in school will be low, so i can have another problem.
I hope they will understand you.

Make a list of all the things you said. Then see which ones you can take a temporary break from. Take a break for a short period from the LOWER PRIORITY things (helping in the church preschool might be one) and use the time you gain to do a little catching up. Then rotate - take a break from something else and resume the church preschool volunteering). Talk to the leaders in each lower priority activity to show that you plan to resume the activity at a certain time and then follow through and keep your word. You are somewhat overloaded but you also say you love all your activities so I'm just suggesting dealing with the things on the bottom of your priority list.

Yes, you are way over scheduled hun!
First, make a list of everything you do. Then, arrange them in order of priority. Like, which you have to do and which you like to do. The likes should be arranged in order of importance to you.
From there you can see what you can eliminate. Obviously, school work has to stay. But, you can cut out some youth group stuff. Maybe talk to your dad and tell him that you have to much going on and are stressing out. Perhaps, you don't need to help him as much as you think. As far as babysitting, you should be getting a flat rate pay per hour. And, if that's too much four you just cut it back to only x amount of hours per week.
That way, you can tell the families you work for that you are only available for babysitting for 6 hours during the week. Once those hours are gone they'll have to book for the next week. Or, whatever hours you find work for you.
Good Luck!! I know you can find a good balance :)))

I am a teen too. It seems like the very people who start early at the things arn't necessary the best at what they do. I know this from experience. Eventually, you'll reach your goals either way. Being ahead a year or so makes no difference in your own performance. In fact, people who are stressed out so much live a shorter life at the end anways. It's ok not to write to your friends "ultra" quick (whatever that means). Your life is crazy because you make it crazy, and your parents control 90% of your life and gives you not much room for choices.
The question is.. are you willing to give up some of the things you do?
Sounds like you got a lot on your hands. good luck to you!
by the way you're not over your head, you're just one of those teens that are over-achievers "wanna-bes"

I am 13 and just like you!!!!! What I would do is try to write a shedule if you haven't yet and if you have a computer I would go to www.aop.com, then once you are at the website i would type in the search box SOS(Switched-On Schoolhouse) SOS is a school program that you install on your computer. then ask your parents if they would get the program. tell them that it is Christian based stuff and that they wouldn't have to grade anything except essays. SOS is what my family does and I don't ever get behind although I am really busy, and it takes all of the stress off my parents since they don't have to really grade anything.

You school work should be first on your list. Doing well in school is the foundation for the rest of your life. After that you can pick and choose the other things you want to do.

First tell your parents about your problem, and find out the things that you don't need to do. For example, if you're going to grow up to be a computer engineer, then I don't think you need world religions. Also, if you don't want to do babysitting, just politely tell them that you're booked because of personal reasons, they won't press details.

sounds like you need to prioritize your life. what is most important? what do you need to do to succeed? you need to decide what is really important to you and your future and start making the changes you need. let your parents know you are falling behind and ask them for help with your siblings and around the house. maybe freeing up some of that time will help you
