hes only one :) theres nothing wrong with it. All of our boys (4 of them) had a favorite blanket usually from birth. The older two had theres taken away when they were about 5 and the 6 year old had his put up about a year ago. and our 4 year old still has his! Theres nothing wrong with it. The older they get the less they use them lol. Our older three were ready to give them up!

dont replace his blanket or cut it up thats just wrong. You should keep it for memories :)

I think that it's fine as long as you establish some boundaries. My sons both have blankies that they are attached to. My oldest had a carters blankie that he toted around everywhere. Once he turned 2 yrs. we only allowed him to use it at bed time. He's 8 now and still likes to sleep with it occasionally. My other son has a blankie with a Pooh head attached and from the start we only let him have it at bed times and he's fine with it. He's 2 yrs. old now and still at it. My newborn has his own Pooh blankie and he sleeps with it too, although its not a necessity for him yet.

well you might have no time for this since you have a 1 year old, but if the blankie is falling apart why don't you replace it with a look a like or cut it into smaller pieces, until he realizes that his blankie can't comfort him anymore.

Let him use his Blankie. Its his favorite thing of all. Its like a little girl and her Barbie Doll. you cant take away your childs treasure. But hes 1yrs old ;]]], I bet he will remember his blankie till hes 6. Lol.

god Bless!

Yes,it's his security when he sleeps or when he's upset and so on. Talk to him about getting a new blankie and let him pick it out.
