My advice, find the biggest files that you don' use and delete them. If you have movies or music that take too much space, just burn them on CD/DVD, so you can use the data from your CD/DVD drive. If you have games installed that you don't often play, also delete them, but if you want to play them in the future make sure to have the installation on CD. And getting a bigger drive is always a solution, but from my experience, it's never enough. I upgraded from 20GB to 200 GB, but in only couple of months i have to look for every available byte again.

How big is your hard drive? I now have a 250 gb hard drive and 10 years ago I was just fine with one that was 1 gb. Maybe its time to upgrade to a bigger hard drive.

There are lots of different things you can do, too many to go into here. You can search for any .tmp files and get rid of them. Check emails stored on the machine, they can build up, I had several gig of them at one time. I suggest you google on this topic as there are lots of options.
