The Rockets have the most dominant center in the NBA in Yao, argubably one of the top 2 shooting guards in T-Mac (sometimes can be considered the best player in the NBA), an all around player in Shane who can defend and pop the 3.

Theres all this talk about the Rockets needing a true pg and Alston does not suffice. Kidd is not getting younger by the day and we're assuming that he still wants to win a ring or at least wants to be put on a team that can contend. To think the Lakers are more of contenders than the Rockets is ridiculous.

what kind of a package can the rockets put together? Battier, Alston and some guys?

Don't fool yourself into thinking yao's dominant he's a career loser who can't get the job done

Dominant post men don't have sub 40% winning percentges as the man. (last year when McGrady was out)

A dominant big man was Shaq on the lakers having a winning percentage between 75%-80% when Kobe was out

Yao's without McGrady was like 34%

Yao is like a taller Zach Randolph with less rebounds. Gets his stats but the team can't win with him

Possibly, but Rafer Alston isn't that bad a point gaurd in that Kidd would be such an improvement that they'll be gaurunteed the championship.

He would dramatically improve the Lakers, however, in both offensive and, more importantly, defensive production.

Presently, the Lakers aren't the strongest Western Contenders, that obviously goes to Dallas, Phoenix, or the team that has beaten them both twice already, Utah. However, because of the dramatic improvement Kidd would give them, and also the reinstation of a triangle-esque offense under Jackson with Kobe, Kidd and the interchangable third option, the Lakers would be doubly improved.

Houston, however, isn't a point run offense right now and are having success. It wouldn't make sense to change something that is already working. With Yao back, the Rockets could go deep into the playoffs and surprise alot of teams, possibly winning the West.

The point I'm trying to make is that, while Jason Kidd would improve the Rockets and possibly get himself a ring, his chances are even better with the Championship experience of Kobe and Phil's offense, and, theoretically a Jason Kidd run Lakers team would be better than a Jason Kidd run Rockets team.

To sum up, the Lakers need him more, he'd fit in better and he has a better chance in the playoffs with the more experience Lakers.

no way. if kidd wants a ring, he should go to dallas... they lack a true point guard - devin harris would be an awesome spark off the bench, and terry is a 2 guard.

i agree though that the rockets are more contenders than the lakers.

No way Jose Preciado, the Lakers would be way better with him. The Rockets are a good team, but there is something funny about their team chemistry.
