Anyone can file for divorce without the consent of the spouce. However, when you file you have to make every effort to contact your spouce and make them aware of the proceedings. It has to be posted in a few well known papers and you are obligated to send him the papers if you know his address.
With the exception of someone in jail. You can divorce them and move on. They have a name for it but in effect, their going to jail is the same as abandoning the relationship.

If you live in the United States, there is no law that can bind you to someone against your will. Of course you can divorce a man without his consent! In most countries you are able to do this. I am sure there are some where it might be prohibited and I hope you are not in one of them!

Only if he has disappeared for a great length of time and no one knows his whereabouts . You can start divorce proceedings , but he will receive something from the court so he may be able to respond to the proceedings. Reason being ,he is entitled to know especially if there are minor children or property to settle. If you file for a divorce and he does not respond to the paperwork within the designated amount of time, then you may be able to win your divorce decree by what is called default.

Yes, neither party needs the other's consent to file for divorce. When it's time to split the sheets all one needs is a lawyer or in pro per papers to do it for their self.

That is an uncontested divorce, some States have that law that you can get a divorce under it, but in my state you file and if your spouse doesn't show then the court awards you what your asking for without his/her signature, and the papers are served to them.
