My dad had been downloading a few games, so Im wondering if thast had anything to do with it. All I really want to know, though, is how to get the sound back to normal.

I don't know that much about computers- but I want ot know how to fix the sound. My dad downloaded a few games from "hotgames.com", and now the sound's on the fritz. I deleted the games, but the sound is still messed up.

go into your sound program and hit the reset to default button. you might find it as an icon by the clock or in the control panel under sounds. another option is deleteing or reinstalling the drivers for the sound which you'll find in the systems properties then hardware and device manager. select the sound in the list.not knowing your type of sound card, this is all that can be suggested.

Could be something in the games he downloaded has corrupted you system, or it could be you have overloaded your system's resources. Recommend removing the downloaded games, to see if that helps. If not check your system resources in the system area. Run a disk clean up after you remove the games then run scan-disk, then a defrag. If that doesn't work, remove and then re-install your software for the sound card. Good Luck.

Check and if necessary re-Install the Audio Driver through the following steps /path :

Control Panel,
System,
Hardware,
Device Manager,
Sound,
Audio

Make sure that the Audio Devices are "working properly" and that they are "enabled"
